My unfavorite buzzwords these days are pretty typical \u2014 things like \u201csynergy.\u201d I still hear that a lot. And everything has to be \u201ccollaborative.\u201d My concern with \u201ccollaborative\u201d is that it\u2019s thrown in as a meaningless adjective whether people are actually making an effort to collaborate. \u201cCollaborate\u201d means to constructively approach something in a way that both parties gain from the transaction, whereas we typically use the word \u201ccollaborative\u201d to mean more than one person is involved.
