{"id":23452,"date":"2023-04-14T14:16:10","date_gmt":"2023-04-14T18:16:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/scoopmedia-develop.go-vip.net\/edscoop\/?p=23452"},"modified":"2023-04-18T10:36:21","modified_gmt":"2023-04-18T14:36:21","slug":"axim-collaborative-harvard-mit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/scoopmedia-develop.go-vip.net\/edscoop\/axim-collaborative-harvard-mit\/","title":{"rendered":"Harvard and MIT\u2019s Axim Collaborative to focus on underserved learners"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Harvard University\u2019s new nonprofit, <a href=\"https:\/\/openedx.org\/blog\/introducing-axim-collaborative-new-ceo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Axim Collaborative<\/a>, will focus on serving learners that higher education has historically left behind, CEO Stephanie Khurana said this week.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The nonprofit will use the proceeds of the <a href=\"https:\/\/scoopmedia-develop.go-vip.net\/edscoop\/2u-buys-edx-800-million\/\">$800 million sale<\/a> of edX to distribute grants and forge collaborations that \u201chelp postsecondary completion and issues of economic mobility,\u201d Khurana told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.edsurge.com\/news\/2023-04-13-harvard-and-mit-launch-nonprofit-to-increase-college-access\">EdSurge<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Khurana said it&#8217;s too soon to give specifics about the work Axim Collaborative will fund, but her first step will be \u201creally listening and learning to understand how we can bring [our resources] to catalyze innovation.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Harvard and MIT created a nonprofit called the Center for Reimagining Learning following the sale of edX to 2U in 2021. The nonprofit was <a href=\"https:\/\/openedx.org\/blog\/introducing-axim-collaborative-new-ceo\/\">rebranded as the Axim Collaborative<\/a> last month, with Khurana assuming her CEO role on April
