The University of Mississippi selected Ellucian’s Banner for its new student information system, the firm announced Wednesday.

The public four-year research institution in Lafayette County, which enrolls about 21,000 students, selected Ellucian as its vendor for its “student-first approach and proven solutions,” the company claims in a press release.

Ellucian President Laura Ipsen said the “flexible, open and integrated” platform will “drive success” for Ole Miss students.

“This digital transformation is instrumental for the University of Mississippi’s operational efficiency and for improving the student experience, especially as we look to address the complexities of today’s educational environment and meet the needs of tomorrow,” Noel Wilkin, the University of Mississippi’s provost and executive vice chancellor for academic affairs, said in a statement emailed to EdScoop.

“Just like how technology has changed how we bank, shop, and interact, this solution will change how we work and deliver services. We are eager to provide consistent capability delivery and employ processes and workflows that are curated for higher education in order to drive outcomes for a modern and intuitive user experience,” Wilkin said.
